Finding my True Purpose in Life
I am Natasha, wife, mother of boys and lover of all things natural. I love my life and the direction of it right now. This was not always the case. I used to feel trapped, helpless and unable to do anything about it.
I was that child who enjoyed school. You know, the one we all dream of having! I am convinced this is why I was very much guided towards certain careers. After being told that what I wanted to do would be a total waste of my abilities, I decided that a legal career was the next best fit. I went into it thinking that I would be able to make such a difference to people’s lives. No surprises there but I was very wrong. Did your career turn out to be what you expected? Corporate life was not for me yet I could not see an alternative.
At the time I honestly believed there was nothing I could do. My parents had invested so much in my education that I did not want it going to waste. With rent, bills and a certain lifestyle to maintain taking a pay cut to change career seemed impossible. I just decided to ignore the issue hoping it would go away.
Years later after having my second son we took the decision that I would be a stay at home mum. I had always wanted to be a mum. Now that I was, I wanted to be present as much as possible. ‘I want more out of life’. This is something I hear all the time these days and it is EXACTLY what happened to me. Don’t get me wrong, being a full time mum is incredibly fulfilling but I lost a little bit of myself along the way.
I wanted something in my life that was for me and that would challenge me so I looked at online courses. I considered starting my own business from scratch ( I still have all my notes and designs for my clothes range that was never to be). A few friends approached me about their direct sales businesses but nothing truly inspired me. You make a mistake once, you certainly do not want to make the same again! No career seemed more appealing than the wrong career.
The night that triggered everything we were away visiting family. My youngest, who was a little over one at the time, developed a temperature and shortness of breath. Being away from home, I felt extra lost as to what to do. We ended up spending the night in Hospital where they were able to settle both his temperature and his breathing. They were positive he would recover without the need for anything else. Little did I know I would end up spending the next few weeks in his room with him being kept up by his lingering cough and wheezing with no end in sight. This is when I was introduced to essential oils as being a way to help. I’ll be honest with you, timing was everything. Any sooner, I would have rejected them as something that wouldn’t work. Any later and he had finally recovered, I wouldn’t have been desperate enough.
I decided to give them a go, I mean what was there to lose aside from some money. I purchased a small collection of oils and a diffuser to get me started. Once they arrived, I used a blend for respiratory support along with a drop of lavender to help him sleep. I added both into the diffuser and settled him down for the night. For the whole 6 hours it was on, he didn’t cough of wheeze once! I was sold! I then started to discover the rest of my little collection and noticed the benefits quickly.
It turned out that these oils would be the solution for me on so many levels. I became a better wife and a better mum. Emotionally, I coped with what life threw at me in a whole new way. It gave me this urge to let people know about their power which gave me a purpose beyond being a mum.
Now I get to help mums find solutions to those questions that keep them up at night when it comes to their children. I also help those that are searching for that greater purpose in life. This is not a career I could have imagined in my wildest dreams!
